We toured a dairy farm this weekend. The girls had a great time. Farmer Jason did a short talk about where food comes from and then we went on a hayride and he talked about the cows.
I never really thought about it, but like people, cows have to be pregnant to produce milk, so that's a lot of pregnant dairy cows out there.
After the hayride the girls got to feed the goats, sheep, and horses and then pet a bunny and hold a chicken. Then there was flavored milk and ice cream. Sam liked the bunny best and Rowan definitely liked holding the chicken. Afterwards she chased it all around trying to pick it back up. Sam was too scared to feed the animals, but Rowan loved it.
